Lake Malone’s Masterpiece

This masterpiece towers overlooking beautiful Lake Malone in Muhlenburg County, KY.

Installed by 2 of our master stone masons, showcasing the colorful Epley-Station sandstone, this style is our traditional pattern, passed down 4 generations. The color coordinates are what we call our EpleyStation Blend, exhibiting all the dynamic shades our unique sandstone offers.

The stone is first mined and fabricated at our quarry at CostelloBuildingStone in neighboring Logan County, each stone pitch-faced by hammer and pick.

On the inside, this unique fireplace's hearthstone began as an imported blue-grey TN sandstone slab, and fabricated to size. While much more rigid than our EpleyStation, it compliments well as a finishing piece.

The mantle is a thick, live edge solid wood mantle, resting atop mantle arms cut out of our Blue/Gray ES.

The centerpiece of this eye candy however, is a detailed silhouette of the Bluegrass state itself. Using a nice flat piece of ES Blue, it is then ran through water-jet technology, and the square piece(called a negative), is tethered to a nice piece of flagstone built into the fireplace. Check out CostelloBuildingStone's water-jet novelties for more info on this process and options.

While the gander of this fireplace is deservedly what gives it's allure, that is only 1/3rd of what makes this fireplace an elite addition to this home. It's functionality, and structural integrity will stand the test of time, as will the excellence of CostelloBuildingStone.
